雏鹅的抵抗力比较差，引起鹅死亡的原因有很多比如温度
鹅是恒温动物，0~7日龄尤其是3日龄的雏鹅因低温造成的伤亡最多。雏鹅在26℃以下的低温环境中会相互拥挤扎堆，扎入堆里面的雏鹅容易出汗窒息死亡，如果人工拨散挤堆的雏鹅，出汗雏鹅在低温环境中又会很快着凉感冒，并且人走后又扎堆，反复多次后，不仅感冒更多，而且多次出汗后引起叨毛形成僵鹅。若不及时调整室温，就会引起死亡和造成大批弱雏。造成低温的主要原因是育雏室的保温设备不当和管理不力。
