说明：软启动器的主回路可有不同的接法，即与电机“外接”或与电机“内接”，开关S1于相应的位置。
The main circuit of soft starter can be connected differently, that is, "external" or "internal connection" with motor, and switch S1 in the corresponding position.
“外接”是将软起动器的功率元件接在三角形接法电动机的外部，控制电机的线电流。“内接”是将软起动的功率元件接到三角形接法电动机的内部，控制的是三角形接法电机的相电流。由于线电流是相流的1.73 倍，所以同样的软起动器在“内接”时可提高控制电流（功率）的1.73倍。
The external connection is to connect the power element of the soft starter to the outside of the triangle connected motor, so as to control the wire current of the motor. The internal connection is to connect the soft starting power element to the delta connected motor, and to control the phase current of the triangle connected motor. Since the line current is 1.73 times of the phase current, the same soft starter can increase the control current (power) by 1.73 times.
在实际应用中常以“外接”形式应用，“内接”方式浪费电机连接电缆，增加投资。
