秘色
据《高斋漫录》记载，“秘色瓷器，世言钱氏有国日，越州烧造，为供奉物，臣庶不得用，故曰秘色。”后来的文献都附和此说。实际上，秘色是青釉色调的一种，色泛灰蓝，釉面无光。秘色也并非始于钱氏，唐代已有，盛于五代，衰于南宋，元明时中断。宋时的余姚上林湖烧秘色瓷器，这时的釉色不再是那种青中微微闪黄的不成熟的还原色调，而是一泓清水般的湖绿色。因此国外也有将秘色称为翡色。
