赏瓶，汉族陶瓷艺术的珍品。为雍正一朝出现的一种造型，作赏赐之用。其器型来源于玉壶春瓶，传世品形制基本相同，撇口，细长颈，肩部装饰凸弦纹，圆腹，圈足。赏瓶一般采用这样固定模式的纹饰，颈部装饰青花蕉叶纹，腹部装饰缠枝莲纹。其意喻深刻，\"青\"代表\"清\"，\"莲\"代表\"廉\"，\"青\"\"莲\"合在一起，包含着清中晚期社会的意愿，希望时政\"清廉\"。
描金赏瓶主要是以祭蓝釉金彩皮球花纹赏瓶为主，此种赏瓶兴起的时代较晚，是在传统赏瓶的基础上烧制的，其器型与同时期的赏瓶器型类同，但器身通体施祭蓝釉，釉上有金彩装饰。颈部和腹部的主题纹饰为皮球花纹，纹样异常丰富:有龙、凤、狮、鹿、团鹤、团福寿、蝠磬、八卦、鹭莲、鹌鹑菊花、瑞果、松、竹、梅、金鱼、月华、花虫、花蝶、轮花和各种花卉，不一而足。金彩与祭蓝釉上下互应，釉面匀净亮丽，施上金彩纹样，尤为醒目，别具富丽堂皇之感，更吸引人的目光。但也有只是祭蓝釉而无描金的赏瓶，云南省博物馆曾藏有一件。此外，云南省博物馆曾收藏有一件乾隆蓝釉描金龙纹赏瓶，全器纹饰主要集中在颈部和腹部，描金装饰云纹和龙纹。描金装饰在乾隆时期较为普遍，而蓝地描金则是其中很常见的一种，往往具有很高的工艺水平。此类描金的赏瓶主要流行于清代晚期，由于描金易被磨损，金彩易脱落，保存起来不易，因此品相较好的较少。此类器物的市场价位不算太高，但流通性强。目前在市场中伪品不少，而且许多为后加彩瓷。在目前的赏瓶仿品中，缺点是现仿的赏瓶在器型上掌握得不好，一般来说颈部、腹部和底足仿得不到位。而对于霁蓝釉描金赏瓶来说，最难仿的还有釉和金彩的色调。但同时此类赏瓶也是最难鉴定的。
