这方铜镜属隋代初唐时期“瑞兽铭带十二生肖镜”的领域,即内区为瑞兽纹,中区为铭文带,外区为十二生肖纹等纹饰。该镜现在有十分相似的墓葬出土品。河南洛阳龙门上元三年(676)墓曾出土一面“淮南”铭瑞兽镜,形状、结构、纹饰和铭文与这面镜子险些全同,但镜残,直径24.1厘米,重1772g,体量及生涯状态都不如这面铜镜。遗憾的是,这座墓葬的详细情形不明,我们无从知道这面铜镜的拥有者。
在盈聚文化艺术品交易2014年秋季十周年庆典拍卖会上,16件名家旧藏的青铜礼器经由强烈竞价,最后100%成交,总成交额近4000万元,远凌驾估价。其中,著名珍藏家卢芹斋旧藏,菲利普斯递藏的商代晚期青铜兽面纹斝,以400万起拍,成交价954.5万；西周晚期妊小簋,同为卢芹斋旧藏,赛克勒递藏,200万起拍,506万成交；西周厉王噩侯驭方鼎,陈介祺旧藏、敬修堂递藏,280万起拍,最终以839.5万成交……多件拍品价钱远超外洋的青铜器拍卖价钱。一直以来,作为国之重器的青铜器都没有搭上中国艺术品市场狂飙的顺风车。
铜镜在我国有相当长的生长历史,现在较量公认的是从齐家文化。可是铜镜的价值并不是越古越值钱,公认铜镜有三个绚烂的时期,划分为春秋战国、汉代、唐代。其余时期的铜镜都无法与这三期相比,尤其是晚期的铜镜,好比明清时期。
