西汉时期,一改战国时期铜镜纹饰的繁缛和镜体的单薄,镜式逐渐精练、厚重,钮多作半球形、连峰形。图案结构和纹路也有新的转变,泛起了以乳钉为基点的结构要领,主纹突出,地纹逐渐消逝。主题纹饰素朴,图案结构简朴,改变战国时期严谨的细密气焰气焰。西汉盛行的铜镜主要有草叶纹镜、星云镜、日光镜、昭明镜、四乳禽兽镜。
