接着是看完整性。从外观察整颗天珠的完整度最直接且效果好。由于老天珠年代久远，想找一颗完好无暇的天珠颇为困难，因此天珠两端呈现斜面丢眼色的磨损并不影响其完整度。一般而言，除传世品外少部分的破损可能是供佛装藏或磨粉配药之用，应可接受。至于断裂成半或严重破损的天珠，已失去作用不宜收藏。新仿天珠一般都完好无缺，其倾斜面都有“作残”痕迹，要特别留心。还有是看风化纹。
