Water-Dispersed Blocked Polyisocyanate
Description
Bayhydur BL 5335 is water-dispersed blocked
aliphatic polyisocyanate resin based on
dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (H12MDI)
dissolved in water/MPA/xylene, 56 : 4.5 : 4.5
Application
Bayhydur BL 5335 polyisocyanate is used as the
hardener component for 1K-waterborne coatings.
Bayhydur BL 5335 is used as a crosslinking agent
for hydroxyl-functional water-borne resins, such as
Bayhydrol U XP 2239. The crosslinking reaction
occurs at 150°C for 30 minutes. The properties of
the coating based on Bayhydur BL 5335 are related
to the crosslink density that is dependent on the
polyol used. When reacted with Bayhydrol U XP
2239, coatings with very good water and chemical
resistance can be formulated. Because of excellent
adhesion to glass, systems based on Bayhydur BL
5335 polyisocyanate and Bayhydrol U XP 2239
hydroxy-functional polyurethane dispersion are
especially suitable for glass coatings. As with any
product, use of Bayhydur BL 5335 in a given
application must be tested (including but not limited
to field testing) in advance by the user to determine
suitability.
