The experiment of "measurement of gamma-ray emission of boron-containing polyethylene ball under d-t neutron irradiation", which used polyethylene ball and boron-containing polyethylene ball to leak gamma-ray emission under d-t neutron irradiation, showed that the slowing down of hydrogen in polyethylene ball played a major role. After the slowing down of neutron, it was mainly the reaction of low-energy neutron to hydrogen. The greater the thickness, the stronger the hydrogen slowing down and absorption, which is reflected in the increase of the amplitude of the hydrogen reaction peak.
